Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized for her high-quality performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. She has won many awards for her performance, including an Oscar. She began her career acting as an actress both on Broadway and Off Broadway. Acting has always been her love of life. In the fifth grade she played Helen Keller in an original show. She became deaf in one ear following a bout of mumps but did not permit this to deter her determination to become an actor. While in college, she studied drama, she moved to New York City with her ambitions in mind. Hunter made her Broadway debut following an accidental encounter in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together in Broadway Crimes of the Heart. After she was settled in Los Angeles, she began to look for film roles. The role she was offered came as an actress supporting the leading character Swing Shift. Her work spans over 30 years, and she's been featured in numerous TV shows, films and series. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
